Resident Evil (The Movie)

For those that don’t already know these movies are based on the survival horror games from Capcom. The movies follow Alice, the ‘heroine’, on her quest for survival along with a misfit bunch of die-hards as they try to outlive the very cliché zombie-apocalypse. It all started out when the Umbrella Corporation created the T-Virus, which had a nasty little side effect of turning people into flesh craving monsters. In 2010 the 4th Resident Evil movie came out and was titled Afterlife where Alice is in search a safe haven known as “Arcadia”. After plenty of munching zombies and some weird half creatures the gang ends up on a boat (which belongs to the Umbrella Corporation) called, you guessed it, Arcadia. A 5th film has been announced and is set for release in 2012.

So, what happens next?

Obviously Alice won’t die and in the end they will probably set it up so there can be another sequel, or whatever you want to call the 6th movie in a series, I guess we could always ask the guys from Saw, or Halloween to help out there. I can only imagine the type of monsters that will be in the next one but seeing as they’ve covered zombie dogs and crows I guess zombie gophers aren’t such a stretch of the imagination, not to even mention their freaky mutated gene experiments that also get a shot of the T-Virus. Is it just me or is that just a silly name for a virus, and who at Capcom decided to call the city where it all started Raccoon City? And Umbrella Corporation? Seriously? But hey, who am I to criticize an idea that brought in millions upon millions?

I love the entire Resident Evil series. I was disappointed that they took away Alice's mutated gene abilities by "curing" her in Afterlife. I'm sure she'll re-infect herself (and Claire as well?) in the next installment so she can fight the Umbrella Corp. Claire really stepped up in Afterlife as a strong co-heroine, so it'd definitely be cool to see both she and Alice with suped up abilities fighting together.

I'd like to see more zombi creatures. Wouldn't it be cool to see sweet little bunny rabbits go rabid or cats for that matter?
